How to Layer Necklaces
1. Choose a common thread: what will your necklaces have in common? Will they have the same metal finish? Sterling silver or gold plated? Or maybe you will go for a lot of beads? The choice is yours, but you must choose! The common thread will help maintain the cohesion of your look. Once you pick that common thread, stick with it! Do not mix shiny rhinestones with polished gemstones.
2. Cut Down the Length: To truly achieve the layered look, you’ll need to pay close attention to the lengths of each necklace. If they’re too short, that won’t work. Too long lengths won’t work either! Keep a safe distance of 6″ between each necklace. Think 18″, 24″ and 30″.
